Canned Foods for Fines Month
November is Canned Foods for Fines Month. From November 1st through November 30th you may bring in one canned good for each $1 in fines owed.
For example: If you owe 10 cents to 1$ you would bring in one item. $1.10-$2.00 2 items and so on. Your fine will then be expunged. However books more than 2 weeks overdue must be brought in and not renewed. After the fine is taken care of you may check the items out again.
Acceptable goods include : All canned foods such as vegetables, fruit, soup, evaporated milk, and formula; Any boxed foods such as macaroni and cheese, cereal, stuffing, instant potatoes; packaged items such as rice and beans. Baby foods are also accepted.
Items not accepted are out of date or expired items, dented cans, rusted cans, and damaged packages.
All items are taken to the Aaron McNeil Crisis Center and the Salvation Army. All donations are welcome.
