Hopkinsville-Christian County Library

Hopkinsville-Christian County Library, serving an area of 72,000 residents, has a collection of 84,000 books and periodicals; in addition, there are 1,980 CDs, records, cassettes and other audio materials, as well as 3,100 video items, such as DVDs and VHS tapes. Internet terminals are available for use by the general public. Wireless is now available.  Simply ask at the front desk for a password.

Staffing consists of 10 employees, including two librarians. The system comprises one central library. Annual expenditures on the library collection total $69,000. Patrons make 144,000 visits annually, and check out materials 154,000 times. Thirty-four percent of all check-outs are children's materials.

THE BEES ARE COMING!!!
Beekeepers Tony and Alethia Prettyman, of Bramble and Bee Farm, will be at the summer reading program on Tuesday, July 22 at 1:30.  They will present a program on beekeeping and share information on bees and the products made from beeswax and honey.  There will also be honey available for sale, as well as lotion and lipbalm made from beeswax.   Join us for a buzzzzzzing good time!
